There are all kinds of buildings on earth. Some of the most famous buildings are the tallest ones. You will find that the list of tallest buildings in the world changes every year. 1. Burj Khalifa

This remains the tallest building on earth. It is located in Dubai City in the United Arab Emirates. The towering building is 828 meters tall, which is equivalent to 2,717 feet.  It has 163 floors and was completed in 2010. Brilliant architects made the mammoth building: the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP; it has offices, residences, and a hotel. 

2. Shanghai Tower

Shanghai, China, seems to be a place graced with many tall buildings. The tallest of all here and the second tallest across the world is called Shanghai Tower. It has a sophisticated, twisted structure and rises 632 meters (or 2,073 feet) above the ground. The Shanghai Tower has 128 floors that are used as a hotel and offices. Completed in 2015, the huge tower was made by Gensler. 

3. Makkah Royal Clock Tower

It is the third tallest building on earth. Completed in 2012, the Makkah Royal Clock Tower rises 601 meters or 1,972 feet above the ground. It is built in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and has up to 120 floors. Made by Dar al-Handasah Shair and Partners plus SL Rasch, the building has multiple uses. 

4. Ping An Finance Center

This building is found in Shenzhen. It has 115 floors and is up to 599 meters tall; it is equivalent to 1,965 feet tall. Ping An Finance Center was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in 2017. This makes it one of the recently built tallest buildings on earth. As the name suggests, this is a building for office or commercial use only.

5. Lotte World Tower

This building grabs the 5th position. It is found in Seoul, South Korea; it rises 554.5 meters or 1,819 feet above the ground. Consisting of 123 floors, this building was made in 2017. It functions as a hotel, an office, a retail outlet, and a residential building. It was made by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, just like the Ping An Finance Center. 

6. One World Trade Center

This building is in New York, USA, and was made in 2014 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. Rising 541.3 meters or 1,776 feet from the earth, the One World Trade Center serves as a commercial building with plenty of offices. It has ninety-four floors. 

7. Guangzhou CTF Finance Center

It is the tallest building in Guangzhou and takes the 7th position worldwide. It is 530 meters or 1,739 feet tall; the building has 111 floors and was finished in 2016. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates also, Guangzhou is a multi-use building. It serves as an office, a hotel, and a residential building. 

8. Tianjin CTF Finance Center

This building is found in Tianjin and was finished in 2019.  It is a new building that is also the 8th tallest building on earth. Tianjin CTF Finance Center is 530 meters or 1,740 feet tall and has 97 floors; it is used as a hotel, office building, and serviced apartments. The building was made by Skidmore, Owing & Merrill LLP- SOM.
