I have been doing black and white street photography in New York since 1985. I love the city and the surprises it has in store from me when I go for my frequent walks. I think I have my own style but the work reflects the great street photography tradition of giants like Garry Winogrand, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, William Klein and many more. I believe my best work comes out of the strange combination of feeling tense and antsy and feeling loose and in the groove. My eye is constantly searching, anticipating. It is mental and physical.
