Jim Storm’s “Ain’t My First Rodeo: The Show” Opens December 1st at Beyond Baroque

Two years ago Cultural Weekly’s own multi-talented writer/ photographer Alexis Rhone Fancher first introduced actor/photographer Jim Storm’s rodeo photography.  No introduction would be complete without expressing sincere gratitude to Alexis for her encouraging support.

Now,  the  much anticipated photography exhibit, “Ain’t My First Rodeo:  The Show,” is right around the corner. The show’s opening reception with Mr. Storm will take place on December 1st from 4-7 pm at Beyond Baroque in Venice, California.  The exhibit will remain on display through December 30th and includes a five year retrospective labor of love as a stunning visual.   Having just celebrated it’s own 50th Anniversary, Beyond Baroque is a a unique and extraordinary Literary / Arts Center which has become a leading outstanding forum for artists to share their work.

A stunning feature that sets this rodeo photography exhibit apart is Mr. Storm’s intriguing “behind the scenes” look at the American cowboy and the rodeo. “This rodeo thing has become a way of life!” says Storm, who has been drawn not only to the compelling action in the arena but also the lives of these men and women.  Storm creates a compelling look at what transcends the eye of the spectator and is captured eloquently through the eye of the lens.

The public is invited to share in the heroism that comes from the commitment and dedication of these courageous men and women to keep our country’s tradition of the American Western Rodeo alive.

Until the opening on December 1st,  here’s a heartwarming peak at  Jim Storm’s personal passion and approach to share the lives of the many that make our country great.  The photographs which  follow are a compelling  preview sampling of his rodeo photography,  that clearly show it “Ain’t ‘His’ First Rodeo”.

Beyond Baroque is located at 681 N. Venice Blvd in Venice, California 90291.  Admission to the event is free. All are welcome.
