This Mother’s Day, let’s not only think about how hard human moms work—let’s appreciate some animals moms, like this octopus:

 

UNDERDONE octopus-mom
The answer is not much. Octopuses sit and do nothing but ventilate their clutch of eggs for months, sometimes years. Once the eggs hatch, the mother dies of exhaustion from not eating. Luckily for this one, somebody dropped a waterproof cell phone near her brood.

 

And let’s give some props to this hard-working K9 mom:

Working dog moms gotta do what they do.
