Following in the wake of our Detroit issue, Cultural Weekly is supporting the Detroit Food Academy in their efforts to raise $10,000 in order to continue offering their innovative curriculum to a diverse community of high schoolers. Using community-focused food entrepreneurship as a vehicle, the Detroit Food Academy offers mentorship opportunities, resources, and skill-sharing to young leaders.

After several iterations of programming, they are now ready to take the next step and grow. With a solidified curriculum ready to go, the Detroit Food Academy needs your help to raise the funds to expand their programming. By 2015 they aim to work with 24 schools and over 350 students around Detroit. Can Cultural Weekly readers help them reach their goal by September 20? Watch this video and then head over to their Indiegogo page to help them out.
