BEAUTY has been making the rounds through social media this past week. It is a remarkable short film by Rino Stefano Tagliafierro. And it’s like nothing else we’ve seen before.
Tagliafierro, an Italian experimental animator and director, has taken some of the greatest works throughout the history of art, paintings from artists such as Caravaggio and Tiziano, and animated the events captured in the still paintings.
BEAUTY – dir. Rino Stefano Tagliafierro
From the serene (deer drinking water) to the violent (a beheading), Tagliafierro challenges us to experience this iconic images in a different way. Yes, there is beauty in this, as the title of the video suggest, but it goes beyond pretty.
