Even though we barely ever see them, bats come in all shapes and sizes. Most of them eat tons of insects every night, pollinate flowers around the world and spread seeds (by pooping them out) to help new plants grow. Bat Appreciation Week comes every year in the last week of October.
Below are some observations on the flying mammals. From the bloodsuckers, to echolocation to inebriated mosquito eating, bats are a diverse bunch.
Visit Batweek.org to learn more about bat conservation and why they need our help (strangely they don’t offer advice on how to keep them from eating alcoholic insects).
