Wanda Coleman (1946-2013) the first African American woman to receive the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, has won fellowships from Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, has published twenty-two books of poetry, and is included in stand up poetry: An Expanded Anthology, copyright 2002, published by University of Iowa Press, in which her poem, “I Live for My Car,” can be found.
