Gerri Lucas lives in the Chicagoland area and teaches high school in the south suburbs. Ten years ago, after she entered the slam scene, she saw the need for teens to have a voice in our world. To make that happen, she created a Spoken Word Poetry club at her school. It has since become an award-winning slam team and her students have been invited to perform throughout Chicago and its suburbs. Over the last few years, Gerri has rededicated herself to her poetry, to the cheers of her students. She has completed her M.F.A. in Poetry from Sierra Nevada College and is currently editing her manuscript, WonderLust. Her poetry has been published in the Analecta Literary Magazine and the People of Extraordinary Talent Anthology, First Edition.
