Fares (Yousef) Abdelhalim was born in Alexandria, Egypt. His family migrated to the Washington DC Metropolitan area at the age of 1. He is currently pursuing a degree in English from Northern Virginia Community College. Yousef is a passionate activist with deep ties to many grassroots movements working to help end racism in our society. Yousef has personally felt the hardships of systemic racism (both overt and implicit) as well as the excessive force and police brutality that has plagued the country since its inception.
