A writer, actress, and singer since early childhood, Elya Braden took a long detour from her creative endeavors, including fourteen years as a stressed-out corporate lawyer. After leaving the law, Elya returned to singing and acting. Thanks to her one TV commercial in 2007, she remains the face of Treatment Resistant Depression in the Pacific Northwest. In 2008, Elya moved to Santa Monica to pursue her love of writing poetry and memoir. When she’s not writing, Elya creates collage art and leads workshops for other writers. Elya’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in Amarillo Bay, Cultural Weekly, Dogwood, Echoes Poetry Journal, Euphony, Forge, Jewish Women’s Literary Annual, poemmemoirstory, Willow Review, and Scratch Anthology (Volume 3).
