Alan Hines is an author, screenwriter, and teacher. He wrote the screenplay adaptation of his novel, Square Dance. His short fiction has appeared in storySouth and elsewhere. The film Square Dance (Island Pictures) opened at the Sundance Film Festival as did the film of his screenplay Save Me. Other screenplays include: Ambulance Girl, starring Kathy Bates, Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story, and The Interrogation of Michael Crowe, which won a Peabody Award.
