Aileen Cassinetto is the Poet Laureate of San Mateo County, California, and publisher of Paloma Press, an independent press publishing poetry & prose. Widely anthologized, she is also the author of the poetry collections, Traje de Boda and The Pink House of Purple Yam Preserves & Other Poems, as well as three chapbooks through Moria Books’ acclaimed Locofo series. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Asahi Shimbun, The Banyan Review, Moss Trill, The Nonconformist Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Vox Populi, among others. Aileen has been interviewed in NBC Bay Area’s Asian Pacific America, PenTV, The Six Fifty, Your Artsy Girl, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Cagibi, The Nonconformist Magazine, and Half Moon Bay Review. In honor of MLK Day 2021 and Inauguration Day, Aileen collaborated with the San Mateo County Arts Commission and local teacher Mr. Jim Ward to release the anthology, I Have a Dream: Inaugural Poems for a New Generation by San Mateo County Youth, ages 6 to 16.
