Craig Colorusso’s Sun Boxes Come to Vermont State Parks

Artist Craig Colorusso’s environmental installation Sun Boxes is comprised of twenty speakers operating independently, each powered by the sun via solar panels. They’ve been touring the US since last year, and they’re presently in Vermont’s State Parks.
Each box plays a different guitar note continuously; collectively they make a B-flat chord. Because the loops are different in length, once the piece begins they continually overlap and the piece slowly evolves over time.
You can hear Sun Boxes here, and see a slide show.
When experiencing Sun Boxes, Craig Colorusso says, participants “notice the subtleties of the composition unfold. With the abundance of technology and hustle of this culture it is a much needed concept to not only be allowed, but also encouraged to slow down.
