Words of Love

Valentine

I spend my time
in rhyme
attempting
self-expression

Wasted session

For you
the things I feel
are real
and plain
and artless

I won’t complain
or make excuses

Be mine
my plain real love
I thine

Thank you for sharing this poem. It's lovely. It made me smile — and cry, remembering the great love between you and Ty — an inspiration for all of us.

What a wonderful thing to have a published poem on Valentine's Day for
your true valentine. A beautiful poem for a beautiful human being.

What a beautiful debut! I'm especially fond of "Be mine/ my plain real love." It goes to show that words aren't always necessary; but the right words are everything.

Sylvie

Made me cry as well. Now I have to think what I can do for Patty today to show the same kind of love.

Lovely, Sylvie. I don't know of anyone else who can be so spare, so unadorned and yet so eloquent. Today love is all around you.
