Kickstarter of the Week

The Mill at Calder’s End

We love Gothic stories, and we love puppets. So we can’t resist this Kickstarter campaign, launched by creature-effects artist and master puppet creator Kevin McTurk. Kevin and his team are seeking $32,000 by March 25, 2013, to tell their strange, Edgar Allan Poe-influenced tale, The Mill at Calder’s End.

Kevin tells us this project is equally inspired by the horror movies from Hammer Films, and Jim Henson’s puppet mastery. Enjoy their video below, with its revealing look at how puppet filmmaking works, then go to their Kickstarter page and toss a few coins in the coffin.
