We need your support!
We are convening a historic Language Justice Gathering with people from around the US who are deeply involved in the intersection of social justice and cross-language work.This is a gathering that has been long desired and a long time in the making, and is an attempt to create a national network of language justice advocates.
What is language justice? We see language justice as a powerful tool to create movements and to create social change: a way to connect people across language barriers. Fundamentally, we believe that everyone has a right to speak in the language in which they feel most comfortable, to understand and to be understood. It is also a commitment to creating spaces where no one language dominates over any other and to building cross-language communication over the long haul.
We all need multilingual movements! Be a part of creating the multilingual world we all want to live in! Can you help us?
Twenty social justice interpreters and language justice organizers from collectives, groups, co-operatives, and organizations from California, Massachusetts, Virginia, Texas, Washington DC, New York, Georgia and North Carolina will be a part of this historic gathering. Groups include: Antena/Antena Los Ángeles, Boston Interpreter Collective, Caracol Interpreters Cooperative, Highlander Research and Education Center, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Southerners on New Ground (SONG). There will also be a number of interpreters who work independently to build multilingual spaces.
After this initial meeting, we hope that this group will work together to create a more lasting network that can work nationally (and internationally) on language justice. We need to come together to share experiences and challenges, to see what we might create together, and to begin to lay the groundwork for a strong movement.

Estamos organizando una reunión histórica para la justicia del lenguaje con personas de todas partes de los EEUU que están trabajando de manera profunda en la intersección de la justicia social y el trabajo inter-lingüístico.
